Mir ist nicht ganz klar, wie man hier "in Committee" übersetzt, vor allem auch wegen der Großschreibung.

In der Geschäftsordnung des EP kann man nachlesen, dass Ausschusssitzungen generell öffentlich sind. Aufgrund meiner sehr guten Beziehungen zum EP kann ich nur sagen, dass eine Abstimmmung im Ausschuss unter Ausschlusss der Öffentlichkeit etwas sehr Außergewöhnliches wäre. Da scheint mir eine etwas missglückte Formulierung im Englischen tausendmal wahrscheinlicher.
Man soll ja niemals nie sagen, aber wenn es tatsächlich um den Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit ginge, müsste das aus deinem Text hervorgehen, denn das wäre eine solche Sensation, dass es nicht damit getan wäre, es mit zwei Worten in einem Satz zu erwähnen.
Die Tagesordnung für die Sitzung ist leider noch nicht verfügbar. Sie wäre hier zu finden: http://www.europarl.eu.int/activities/expert/meetCal/calSear...
Das kann aber noch dauern.

Comment: "Danke für deine Ausdauer, Tradesca, stimmt absolut, was den Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit angeht. Ich habe nun in meiner Verunsicherung Informationen von einem ehemaligen Mitglied dieses Ausschusses eingeholt. ABCTexts Antwort ist ebenso richtig. Gemeint ist allerdings die Unterscheidung zwischen der Ausschusssitzung und der Abstimmung im Plenum.

Mir den Brüdern habe ich wegen einer Produktzulassung z. Zt. auch zu tun...
Dort werden sämtliche Entscheidungen in Ausschusssitzungen getroffen und nicht während der täglichen Arbeit. Deshalb muss man manchmal auch drei Monate auf ein Antwortschreiben warten... ;- (

: (Sorry about that!) But this is the whole meeting, surely; while my posting can refer to a section from which the public etc. is excluded, which appears to be what is called for here.

Quite a common expression in UK English; a "Committee" is frequently capitalised in this way, as it is (or can be) an important body.

The Sub-Committee resolved that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the following matter so as to avoid the disclosure of information which is exempt in terms of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, paragraph 6.

Thanks Steffen; by the way, "in Camera" is another way it is sometimes expressed, although this does apply more often to hearings than to decision-making.
