Beschreibung eines Reinigungsgangs einer Melkanlage mir einer bestimmten Chemikalie

Daily routine instructions - AFTER MILKING:

Leider bin ich kein Landwirtschaftsspezialist und brauche daher Hilfe bei der genauen Benennung der Teile der Maschine. Leider hatte ich auch keine Bilder. "Cluster" in einer separaten KudoZ-Frage.
Vielen Dank!

Björn Vrooman Aug 18, 2014:
Hello Yorkshireman! Indeed, if I may say so, you seem to always have very informative and well-supported (links) answers. It is the reason why you most likely will never see me posting a "disagree" to one of them. You even convinced me from time to time to change my neutral to agree (actually, something I don't see very often from others).

I am simply thinking of the glossary and that, at least in my view, the GER-EN/EN-GER translation entries (in contrast to EN-EN etc.) should contain an answer directly referring to the relevant field. The KudoZ sentence you quoted is a general phrase because it has to account for all eventualities (for example, EN-EN as above). Since the field is not retail but agriculture, I'd expect that both relevant terms be mentioned somewhere in the answer (jetter = Spülaufnahme / jetter washing system = Reinigungsautomat, I believe but I am not entirely sure). The asker also said in her opening statement that she is no expert and needs "Hilfe bei der genauen Benennung der Teile der Maschine".

I merely provided additional information to your answer, which I think is the most helpful and should be rewarded.

Yorkshireman Aug 18, 2014:
Moin Björn The idea behind my answers is to provide information, not necessarily to offer a precise translation of a term. That said, one, or perhaps several, of the pieces of information posted may indeed be the translation the asker is seeking.

I quote,"Your KudoZ answer was chosen as most helpful. " - not "Your KudoZ answer was the best translation"
Björn Vrooman Aug 17, 2014:
@Yorkshireman You're right about the manual/automated part - I only posted it as neutral because I couldn't quite put my finger on it. First thought it had something to do with the aforementioned, but no: it's the "set" I don't like. You've delivered a well-written explanation that I could agrre to without a doubt.

I simply don't think "Set" in this context is an answer to the asker's question. I changed the comment accordingly. BTW: "Spülaufnahme" is also listed in the link to which you referred me.

Just an example directly related to the entire sentence in question:
"Vor-und Nachbereitungsarbeiten (Melkzeuge vor dem Melken aus der Spülaufnahme nehmen, Reinigen des Melkstandgebäudes"

Yorkshireman Aug 17, 2014:
@Hi Susanne The water for cleaning/rinsing the "Zitzenbecher" is enters through the single tube and can rinse a whole cluster of them (Melkzeug) at one time on the "branches".

Here are several different kinds of jetters in the category Melkzeugreinigung - interestingly enough called Jetters in German -Spüljetter and Jettercup (the rubber bit that fits into the Zitzenbecher)

BTW: Point 7. Leave clusters on jetters except during frosty weather.

Indicates that the "Melkzeug auf 'Jetter' gelassen werden soll" i.e. after milking and when no milking is taking place.

In other words, leave the "Melkzeug" connected to the cleaning system (adjacent to or above the milking stall) when not in use - which makes good sense; except in frosty weather, when the water used for cleaning could freeze and damage the Melkzeug.

To make it perfectly clear (Björn), a jetter is an automatic or manually operated cleaning system "Spülsystem/Reinigungssystem" for "Melkzeug". As stated above this note "leave the "Melkzeug" connected to the cleaning system (adjacent to or above the milking stall) when not in use"

Hi Susanne, and THX
agree Björn Vrooman : Jetter cup = Spülkopf. Jetter = Spülaufnahme. "Set" is retail terminology. // Will change to agree (but see discussion entries). Don't know what the asker is waiting for? That is the best explanation. Period.

The 4th link shows a whole line of jetters - the jetters are the blue objects attached to the water supply line (see the Delaval jetters pic)

neutral Yorkshireman : Jetters are used for cleaning the Zitzenbecher. They look very similar.
