English term

Shmooze

English to Hebrew Art/Literary General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
I know the origin is Yidish rather than English, but it is commonly used in English as well.
Anyway, what's the Hebrew rendering for shmooze when it comes to, say, shmoozing a client to win a bid or some such?

You are right. The origin is Yidish and this the most popular verb.

לשמן או לפנק

לשמן is euphemism for 'to bribe' and might work for you.
לפנק is not as blunt and may be more appropriate when talking about clients.
Example sentence:

החברים ברשתות הצפופות האלה יודעים להגן על עצמם, יש להם כוח לשמן את מי שצריך ולהרתיע את מי שצריך.
