Embora a palavra "inepto" exista em português, quase sempre se emprega como traducao de "inept". O mais comum é incapaz (ou incompetente)

A minha dúvida, fruto provavelmente de algum cansaço, não estava em "inept" (palavra que sei como traduzir e da qual conheço vários sinónimos, uns mais comuns do que outros...), mas na expressão "of late" que, numa leitura precipitada, me pareceu mais idiomática do que aquilo que ela realmente é.
