In another aspect, the present disclosure provides a method of treating presbyopia of a human eye, comprising: defining a non-zero amount of induced aberration for the eye; applying a ray tracing process to determine a corneal ablation pattern defining an amount of corneal tissue that, when removed from the eye, leaves the eye with the defined amount of induced aberration; and moving a focal point of laser radiation over an exposed surface of corneal tissue of the eye to remove corneal tissue in accordance with the determined ablation pattern.
