Sharpening or steeling?
So, how do you decide if a Whizard Trimmer blade needs sharpening or steeling?
Always start with sharpened or new blades at the beginning of a shift.
Blades should always be sharpened at the end of a shift to be ready for the next shift.
Be sure to use the appropriate sharpener provided by Bettcher.
Note that blades should not be sharpened while on a food processing line in order to prevent steel residue from being transferred to the product.
In fact, in most processing plants the employees who sharpen blades will probably not be the same ones using the blades on the line.
Be sure that you understand the process and schedule for sharpening at your facility.
Gracias de antemano.
