revocation/withdrawal by administrative law judge - no corresponding term as such

A judge entitled to order that e.g. the publication of a journal has to be stopped.
As far as I know there's no corresponding term in English and/or Italian (could be wrong, though - hence also my average confidence notification).

"... cases are referred to an administrative law judge rather than to circuit court. ... Arellano
has said he would appeal the revocation of the right-to-sue letter. He ..."

EC translators work themselves around this term - here's a good example:

'The court can only order the withdrawal of the contested advertisement. It will not rule on any claims by the consumer arising from an agreement, e.g. for breach of contract, damages, etc.'

court

Evert is right that there's no 1:1 equivalent, IMO. I would add, though, that "rechter" usually renders in English as "court" rather than "judge", as one of his examples demonstrates.

agree writeaway : jein: have just looked this up (got stuck with it too) but the French equivalent is 'juge de cessation' and that is a judge. however appear devant le juge is to appear in court... so nearly 2 years later, the problem remains......

one solution used, December 2003

stakingsrechter/juge de cessation (administrative law judge who presides over hearings dealing with halting an illegal practice/illegal practices).

Would seem to be a Belgian term (as opposed to NL).
