agree Edgar Bettridge : Great, but prefer thin on its own. Other ideas could be "lacking stuffing" (v Parker), "wimpy" (cfr Ravenswood, quite style-specific), "watery".

lacking in robustness

The implication being that the wines will not keep very long - they are not "vins de garde", so any expression implying weakness or literally a poor constitution.

OK, I agree there are perfectly good "easy-to-drink" wines that are not intended to be kept for years in the cellar and are not robust. But a "lack of robustness" is obviously negative, as it's a lack...

why not just stick to the French? I was thinking of something which captured the probable low-alcohol nature of the product, as well as its light body, and keeping the original seems as good an idea as any.
