I think it means that these two parties are appearing as one party in a legal situation.

In the referenced document, the two companies are numbered and then referred to as "comparants sub 1/ et 2/"

So "sub" means the part that makes up the whole.

Après une explication FR>FR peut tout autant s'avérer utile
J'ai supposé que le "sub" faisait référence aux numéros des alinéas désignant les comparants... mais cela reste à confirmer
