Not asana. It is not an asana. But keeping fingures in a particular way.
BHASHNA GUPTA Mar 4, 2014:
This is posture (asana) of Yoga so transliteration would be better

प्राण मुद्रा

This the name of a position in Yogic Exercises, and it is a name, so it should be used as it is. Better to use transliteration instead of translating that term.

Hand gesture for invocation of energy

"Mudra" when literally translated from Sankrit is "gesture" or rather "hand gesture. Now, when it comes to "Praan/PranMudra", The Pran mudra energizes the whole of the body. This mudra helps to increase the Pran Shakti or the "Life force". It helps the body in increasing it's vitality and sustenance when deprived of food and water.

Vital Breath Posture / Life Breath Posture

I think 'vital breath' or 'life breath' is closer to 'praan' than 'vital air'.
