Oh, I see. This explains its usage in the context. It "looked" German for me, but I was wrong. Thank you. But I have created a bit confusing situation, and will have to find out how to fix it and assign Kudos in right way.

Yes, the context is English. But I thought that "lichen ruber" is German. It is just a sentence fragment in a diagnosis report. Am I wrong in my assumption that "lichen ruber" is German? Thank you.

Hi David: Thank you for your help. However, it appears that I had placed my question into an inappropriate category. I mistakenly thought "lichen ruber" was in German, since it "sounded German" to me. But it appears to be in Latin so I just left it as such in my translation. So if you do not mind I will close the question without grading it. Kostas
