Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Yvonne Gallagher, Helena Chavarria

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Chema Nieto Castañón May 12, 2020:
Yes, SND stands for sanidad, which is a short way of saying this is an exceptional "orden" emanating from the Ministerio de Sanidad as long as "el Ministro de Sanidad tiene la condición de autoridad competente delegada" within the scope of the actual health crisis. And so yes and no; SND does actually stand for sanidad but its meaning is quite more specific than just "sanidad".
Taña Dalglish May 12, 2020:
@ Allegro Agree that while it is a numbering system and one would just put back SND/265/2020, Justin wanted to confirm that it stood for "SANIDAD"! See Jane's link again here: https://iusport.com/art/106157/publicada-en-el-boe-la-orden-... /which spells it out "Publicada en el BOE la Orden de Sanidad ......"! I think Justin knows how to handle the numeric classification! Regards and stay safe!
AllegroTrans May 12, 2020:
@ all It's a numbering system so it should stay unchanged in a translation
EirTranslations May 12, 2020:
Agree with Jane and Taña :)
Micaela Ruiz May 12, 2020:
I agree with Jane, there are lots of SNDs, but the majority seem to be related to COVID-19 criteria, evaluations, procedures, and methods.
Jane Martin May 12, 2020:
Yes, all well here, thank you. Hope you are all keeping safe too.
Taña Dalglish May 12, 2020:
@ Jane Thank you, Jane. Hope all is well?/Continue to stay safe! // Yes, for the most part, all good here, especially me! A little worrying, but we are a blessed island, and we have to be thankful. The PM and Health team are working their ** off! Thank you.

Just found this - Publicada en el BOE la Orden de Sanidad para la Fase 1 de desescalada

Jane Martin May 12, 2020:
@ Taña Great minds think alike!
Taña Dalglish May 12, 2020:
@ Justin Justin: I don't think SNDs, especially 265 is Argentina, but rather Spain, and "SND", I assume means "Sanidad". Oops .. perhaps I read wrong: "Arg!" and you did not mean "Argentina", but "argh!" LOL

Confirm what Jane said, as I posted at relatively the same time, so I did not see her entry.

Jane Martin May 12, 2020:
Could it just be Sanidad? All the Ordenes SND seem to be related to Coronavirus.

Sanidad

Creo que es sanidad, no estoy seguro, pero tiene que ver con el Ministerio de Sanidad de España. aunque entiendo que esto no debe traducirse.

neutral philgoddard : Maybe. Either way,I don't think it matters very much what it stands for, since it should remain unchanged in the translation.
