Spanish term

ganancioso y perdidoso

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Lawsuits
The whole sentence (which is the judgment passed by a court) is:
Que habiendo resultado recíprocamente ganancioso y perdidoso, a cada parte soportar sus costas

It doesn't make much sense to me but need to translate it into English... I would appreciate your help. Thanks!

Discussion

It means ... there were gains and losses on both sides or for both parties. The language is typìcally stilted legalese and sounds terribly old-fashioned. I think it can be rendered in a formal yet normal register.
Adrian MM. Oct 11, 2019:
Context of the judg(e)ment Each party to bear its own costs. So query whether there has been a claim won by one side but then a counterclaim by the other or a judgment on parts of the claim, one or more of which had been won and lost respectively by each side,
philgoddard Oct 11, 2019:
It sounds like neither party is the clear winner. Does that fit the context? Usually the loser pays costs.
