clipboard is the right translation here although it is also used for the term: folder.

The term should be clipboard, folder is a permanent file not a temporary file where your information is stored. Your clipboard is cleared when you shut down your computer, your folder remains.

"Slate"
Slate would be more appropriate, when you translate backwards a "clipboard" is not a porta (portar) papeles (paper). If you don't do it both ways, you run the risk of getting the job only half done. Evidently their is a sociological predisposition to favor English over other languages, I consider this to be a socially incorrect posture which should be eliminated.
