Discussion

Sven Petersson Feb 13, 2012:
Euphemism!!! The use of the word "shelter" is, imho, in this context a euphemism. The objective is not to shelter the poor animals, but to expose them to such an adverse environment that they develop the thickest possible fur before they are killed by gassing in carbon dioxide.
Shawn Champion (asker) Feb 13, 2012:
Client wanted me to use "shade shelter." It is actually just a piece of sheet metal on poles, so it's not really a shed. An animal shelter, in America at least, is where strays are taken by the city.

Proposed translations

At least how the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture translates it.

neutral Sven Petersson : Well they call it ""fur animal shelter(s)", not just "shelter(s)".
