I may be wrong but I still think that OSA + MNC, appearing together, mean as I suggested. Below citation is one of many where OSA and MNC appear in the same context. OSA could well mean “Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant” of course but I have never come across Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant and MNC appear together in the same context – unless MNC means ‘Multinational Corporation’, which I do not think is the case here.

“For several years the Modified Neck Circumference (MNC) questionnaire, which was developed by Flemons (Box 1), was used to screen preoperative patients for OSA risk at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH). It is simple to use and is felt to be reliably sensitive and specific in identifying patients at high risk of having OSA.”

Having said all that, this exercise of guessing words forming an acronym seems like an almost impossible task. Is it not possible to ask your client what they stand for, given that you are currently working on a translation? If you are able to ask your client, pls share their explanation with us

OK. I just found out that OSA stands for Ophthalmic Surgery Assistant.

Which makes sense, because the document I'm translating is about eye surgery.

BUT I have yet to figure out what MNC stand for.

Any help would be appreciated.
