Source text - English Ahmedabad, April 12, 2019: Ahmedabad has emerged a leading travel market with over 30% increase YoY in Q1 2019 says Thomas Cook India, as the company shared insights on this strong growth market that displays a growing appetite for travel – opting for more than two vacations each year across both international as well as domestic destinations.
With a view to increasing its customer access in Gujarat, Thomas Cook India’s extensive network covers 17 outlets: across key cities of Ahmedabad, Baroda, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Mehsana, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara; also emerging Tier 2 & 3 markets like Palanpur, Dahod, Morvi, Nadiad and Navsari.
Thomas Cook India’s trends highlight that Ahmedabadis are displaying increasing demand for Europe including UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands (around 15%) and short hauls like Dubai-Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Bali. This year is also seeing a surge in bookings of 20% for Japan during the renowned Cherry Blossom season and Egypt; equally a strong increase of 18% for East Europe’s Hungary, Czech Republic and Croatia. Cruises are very popular and a 22% growth is being observed across Ahmedabad-Gujarat.
