Narrated 'Ursa:
The Prophet asked Abu Bakr for 'Aisha's hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said "But I am your brother." The Prophet said, "You are my brother in Allah's religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry."
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 35:

(regarding) the Verse: 'And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans...' (4.3) It is about the orphan girl who is in the custody of a man who is her guardian, and he intends to marry her because of her wealth, but he treats her badly and does not manage her property fairly and honestly. Such a man should marry women of his liking other than her, two or three or four. 'Prohibited to you (for marriage) are: ...your foster-mothers (who suckled you).' (4.23) Marriage is prohibited between persons having a foster suckling relationship corresponding to a blood relationship which renders marriage unlawful.

Iddah is the waiting period a divorced woman or a widow observe before she can remarry. It is the duration of three menstrual periods or delivery if pregnant. In case of divorce and if the divorce is revocable, the couple may resume their life after reconciliation within the Iddah but with a new Mahr (jointure) and marriage. The husband has a three times to divorce and after the third he cannot return her back till she gets married to another person. If the later divorces her, it becomes lawful to the former.

: Unfortunately, the information in the website you quoted is wrong. During the Iddah, i.e. when the divorce is revocable رجعي no contract and mahr are needed. They are needed when the divorce becomes enforced بائن when the iddah expires.// disagree.

and that he is not legally entitled to her
It could also be "he cannot legally consumate his marriage to her" but that is fully contextual translation.

According to law, it is unlawful for him to marry her.
I think the simple translation of لا تحل له شرعاً is 'According to law, it is unlawful/prohibited for him to marry her' that is correct linguistically, and also clearly conveys the necessary meaning to any kind of audience.

: I would say "It is unlawful for him to remarry her, according to Islamic law". See explanation below

Explanation - not for grading

Abdelmonem Samir
: Dear Hamzeh, please, allow me to disagree with you. 'unmarriageable' means "can not be married"= لا يمكن أن تتزوج The meaning here is "she became UNMARRIED to him" لم تعد زوجته . 'Unmarriageable' suggests that she can not marry him (or anyone) again. :)

please check up the link provided and rethink about "Unmarriageable" cause it means "Unmarriageable person" it means"من يحرم الزواج منه أي أنها لم تعد تحل له وأستغرب طرحك بأنها لم تعد قادرة على الزواج من أي شخص آخر لأن الكلمة لا تعني ذلك
