Pathology Report - Prostate Biopsy
The following appears in a pathology report for a radical prostatectomy specimen:
Etiquetado como “linfadenectomía iliaca externa derecha”:
Se reciben en formol 3 fragmentos de tejido fibroadiposo que agrupados miden 6,5 x 4 x 1,3 cm. Se palpan dos formaciones nodulares compatibles con ganglios y un conglomerado adenopático. Se incluyen cortes representativos en 7 bloques: B1: un ganglio linfático, B2: un ganglio linfático, B3-B7: conglomerado adenopático.
Can anyone advise on the term "conglomerado adenopático"? I have considered "adenopathic conglomerate" and "lymph node mass", etc. but am really unsure.
Cheers,
John

conglomerate lymph node masses
This is how EN-native radiologists seem to call it.

Comment: "I eventually decided to go with this, although "matted lymph nodes" was also a possibility. Thanks to all."

matted lymph nodes
Definition and references:
Matted nodes are two or more nodes that adhere to each other, identified at the time of specimen dissection in the laboratory, and their presence must be detailed in the pathology report.

The case with only two nodes identified was in fact an extremely large tumour mass of matted nodes and striated muscle within the axilla, inside which two discrete nodes could be identified.

Matted lymph nodes
A group of fused lymph nodes. Matted lymph nodes may be a sign of certain conditions, such as infection, sarcoidosis, or lymphoma. They also may be a sign of cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes.

Palpation of the groins may reveal hard, matted involved inguinal nodes.
