Mnoho objektů zachránili občané sami, zejména v posledních letech, kdy už působily výsledky publikační a osvětové práce našich spolupracovníků. Podle ohlasů, které máme k dispozici se jedná nejméně o dalších 200 objektů. Většinou se jednalo o úpravu okolí nebo o transfer památky na méně ohrožené stanoviště. V některých případech obce za pomoci orgánů památkové péče pověřených obcí, nebo pracovníků územních památkových úřadů zajistily odbornou restauraci kamenného kříže nebo i zhotovení jeho repliky.
