Ο όρος "ought self" - από το ought to = οφείλω να , επιβάλλεται να - αποδίδεται καλύτερα στα Ελληνικά με τον όρο "επιβαλλόμενος εαυτός" γιατί το ought περιέχει την έννοια της επιβολής , του καταναγκασμού
