English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering

[piping - the text is saying that since the refrigerant of this new unit is R410A, while previous unist used R22 (lower pressure) some changes need to be made to circuits/tools used, etc.]

"Refrigerant piping:
Only ö 19.1 is changed to ***1/2H material***
while the previous material is ***"O"***.

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Oct 18, 2004:
maybe I found some reference: Copper tube material and thickness
O: Soft (Annealed)
H: Hard (Drawn)

but what about the "1/2" portion?

1/2 H copper piping

I think that you are on the right track.
See the second link for the specifications of refrigeration parts (copper pipes)
1/2 H means drawn, whereas H is hard drawn. O is soft annealed.
Peer comment(s):

agree Tony M : It means 'semi-hard' or 'half-hard' --- I think the difference is between cold-drawn and hot-drawn, though I could be wrong there; but I think 1/2H is standard jargon anyway...
