French term

Hdv

French to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs birth certificate
This is a French birth certificate from 2007 and the abbreviation Hdv figures next to the certificate number. I don't normally see characters included in the reference number

BIRTH CERTIFICATE N° 1234 – Hdv
PERSON'S NAME

It's a full copy, with filiation, if that has any relevance.

thanks

Julie

Conor McAuley Oct 21, 2021:
I live in Dijon, so I can tell you that Dijon's City Hall is a very grand building.

More to the point, Dijon has four "mairies annexes", so possibly birth certs can be issued by them too, hence the added detail.
Julie Barber (asker) Oct 21, 2021:
Thanks Conor!! It wouldn't fit the town - Dijon but Hotel de ville sounds like a good suggestion!!
Conor McAuley Oct 21, 2021:
Or Hôtel de Ville?
Conor McAuley Oct 21, 2021:
An abbreviation of the name of the municipality ("commune")?

Maybe the only possibility, really.

Thanks Samuël!
agree philgoddard : Though it's part of a reference number, so I wouldn't translate it.
