Hi everyone! I'm translating a series of profiles of football players for FC Porto. This one is on Duda. Not sure what this phrase is getting at - something like bumping into him would mean talking until the sun went down?

Duda foi a alegria tropical das Antas e o diabo vestido de azul numa noite de sonho. Levava tudo a sério e tudo a brincar, meio caminho andado para o sucesso. A sua natureza efusiva (brasileiro de Maceió, com quem ***dois dedos de conversa acabavam sempre numa tarde à beira-mar***) manifestava-se em campo da forma mais elementar: bola perdida era bola recuperada, passe mal medido era alvo de sorriso trocista e prenúncio de uma assistência para golo.
