Bio
I was born (1952) and raised in Denmark. After graduating from high school, I went to the University of Copenhagen, where I completed the first two years of Biochemistry.
But then the curiosity and the desire to discover a bigger part of the world took over and that’s how I came to Paris in 1974, where I still live today. In the first twelve years of my life here in France, I worked as a social worker and I hold a DEES (higher national diploma in social and educational care) from Institut Parmentier as well as a pre-bachelor degree in sociology at the University René Descartes in Paris.
Then I wanted to take advantage of my two backgrounds, my Danish and my French experiences. I started as a freelance translator (1986) and at the same time I had a half-time job as medical secretary, which allowed me to start up more easily and also gave me the opportunity to specialize in medical translations.
This new direction in my professional life was also for me the opportunity to get closer to my family and my friends in Denmark and spend more time with them. I go to Denmark very often, at least four or five times a year, to take part in family celebrations, cultural arrangements or simply enjoy my holidays.
Today I have a long experience in various translations such as :
- technical documents, manuals and datasheets related to the industrial field: industrial automation, car industry, communication systems; telephony, personal protective equipments, kitchen appliances, etc.,
- catalogues and brochures related to cosmetics, sportswear, strollers etc.
- medical, paramedical and pharmaceutical documents: study protocols, summary of product characteristics, package leaflets etc.,
- subtitles for TV5-monde
- different documents for OECD
