My name's Tiago Luís Gomes.
I have studied both mechanical & multimedia engineering, and completed a bachelor in applied languages.
I decided to start working as a freelancer 10 years ago, and I've been doing it ever since, back then Upwork was called Odesk, and there (here) is where I’ve started.
Until today, and as part of my bachelor in applied languages, but not limited to, I have studied the following languages:
- Portuguese;
- English;
- Spanish;
- French;
- Italian;
Regarding these aforementioned beauties, I only translate from each to Portuguese (my native language), and English (my second language).
I also have an interest in those languages we tend to call exotic such as Arabic, Chinese, and Russian, and I might be adding one or all three to my polyglotism.
Most of my time is spent writing, either working as a freelance translator or writing my own material.
I have experience working with several CAT tools, both online and desktop based, such as:
- SDL Trados;
- MemoQ;
- Memsource;
- Transifex;
- PoEdit;
- PhraseApp;
- CrowdIn;
I also work with custom made CAT tools whenever a client has one, they’re usually very user friendly, and it only takes a couple minutes to get the hang of them.
