Translation - English September 30th, 2013. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), the official journal of the United States National Academy of Sciences, published an article on female infertility. In the study, researchers surgically removed ovaries from women, treated the ovaries with special drugs, then grafted them back onto the women, reawakening the ovaries for some women who had been infertile for years. A cure like this could potentially help women who have become infertile due to cancer or chemotherapy, women with premature ovarian failure, and even menopausal women who married later in life. What’s more, the study had already produced in vitro results: the successful birth of a live baby boy.
Unsurprisingly, this article caused a big stir in the reproductive arena of medical research, and received coverage from big names such as Associated Press, NPR, ABC, BBC, Fox News, and even The Los Angeles Times. The leader of the research team? A Taiwanese scientist from the Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Aaron Hsueh. His team included researchers from China, Japan, America, and Sweden.

Experience
Years of experience: 4. Registered at ProZ.com: May 2007.
I am born and raised in the U.S., but was taught Mandarin Chinese before I even learned to speak English, and as a result am now completely fluent in both languages. In middle school I began translating comics online for fun, and eventually what with helping friends and family with all their translation needs, it turned into a profession for me.
I have studied creative writing extensively in school, so for creative works I am able to not only translate the meaning of the words, but also maintain the mood and tone of the work to be as similar to the original as possible.
