cant really say, I do online banking, etc. when I have a small break. But a certain amount of time EVERY day, is minimal as I am happy when I get away from the computer after working.

....like me you don't separate time for work and time for personally-related activity. It's all multi-tasking. If sth is taking a while to download for instance, or a word just isn't coming, that is the moment when I might choose to do some personal banking or to send a message to a friend.

And this, is it work or personal?!

About 2 hours May 22, 2011

It's difficult to say, but I'd estimate that I'm spending about 2 hours on the computer every day. About half of it is spend answering personal emails, the rest of these 2 hours is dedicated to my writing. On second thought, this can be considered work as well.

about 3 a day May 22, 2011

Aside from regular social media, internet banking and the like, I watch a few British and Spanish programmes that I either can´t get on Brazilian TV or don´t want to watch dubbed.
So in total it´s 3, but it´s the time most people would end up spending in front of the telly anyway.

When I am on Proz.com, and it happens that my kids need my help, they would ask me first:"Mom, are you working? Can you please do me a favor now?"

It's always difficult to give them an accurate answer. To be honest, when I am on Proz.com, I am not working on a translation project mostly, but neither am I doing my personal business. It's a mixture, both professional and personal.

Proz.com is only one site of this nature, there are quite a few for our profession.

My husband's moan is that I'm "always working".

But I'm not. It's just that everything I want to do seems to be on the computer.

Personal banking, shopping for everything from books to holidays, catching up with the news, chatting ... I do everything online.
