... is money ever not an issue? Even if you have it, it's an issue. It's in our psychosocial mitochondria at this point.

I do think that money shouldnt matter, but it does, a lot. Still, doing something that you care about, that is helping others with your own knowledge, its something that makes you feel good and you are making a difference in your own community. Either way, I chose working with translation because I could make money doing something fun. So yeah, I would still do it.

I feel I have a few things that I would much rather dedicate myself to if money were not an issue.

It's not as if translating EU directives, user manuals for power tools and product descriptions of beauty creams is what I've always been dreaming of doing in life.

In a communist state money is not an issue, yet translators exist. Do they love their work? Of course! Should we build a communist state? I don't think so.
