I'm sorry if this topic has been posted before.
My desktop (Windows 7), like all of my other devices, is not displaying ProZ properly, resulting in not only ugly user interface but also feature loss. I can't even submit a support request. So I'm writing this topic. Hopefully I can post it.
The problem is, images are not showing. I can only see icons of broken images instead, or sometimes, white boxes with red crosses. Text is also misaligned.

The problem is, images are not showing. I can only see icons of broken images instead, or sometimes, white boxes with red crosses. Text is also misaligned.
I'm not very tech-savvy, but I did try some basic possible solutions, including updating or reinstalling the Flash Player and Java, but none worked. And it's very important to note that I don't have this problem for any other websites. Also, all of my devices, like cellphone, tablet, are having the same issue, and for ProZ only. I would guess it's a problem of ProZ its own, but no one seems to be posting this issue as far as my crippled ProZ webpages are telling me.

What is your browser? Did you try another one? I have no problem using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
Aren't you behind a firewall?
Did you contract your Internet provider? Recently, users in Russia have experienced problems due to actions of Russian authorities.

I've tried different browsers, including Firefox and Chrome, and they all have this issue.
As for firewall, it's a little tricker. I'm based in China, and we do have a nationwide firewall system that blocks many foreign sites-Youtube, Facebook and Twitter to name a few. But like many others working with foreign companies, I use VPN service which helps me detour the firewall. I can visit whatever site I like with no problem. If you open the site in Chrome and open the Chrome developer tools by clicking 'View', 'Developer', then 'JavaScript Console' you should be able to open up the browser developer tools. From there, first click on the 'Console' tab and reload the page. See if there are any errors in red. Next try clicking on the 'Network' tab and reload the page. This should show all of the assets (like images) getting loaded. You said that you were not seeing any images so I am guessing you might see some error h... Sorry to intrude here.
Based on the information you provided, it seems that DNS lookups of the cdn*.proz.com names are not working for you. You mentioned in one of your posts that you are using a VPN. You will have to contact the company that administers your VPN service for more information as to why you are unable to load content originating on ProZ.com.

The result is I can log in but cannot use many features, like editing the About me page, as the UI elements are all messed up.

I solved my problem described above by adding proz.com to a list of exclusions of a Web shield of the Avast Antivirus installed on my system. Now everything works fine in both Firefox and Chrome.

Hello John,
From the error messages you include here, it looks like there may be an issue with the DNS provided by your ISP. I would suggest trying Google's DNS servers instead and seeing if that fixes the problem. You can find more information about how to do that here: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/
