Don't know the English term, but it's the total number of hours a student is supposed to need/spend on the studies/subject. Another word is 'studiebelasting/ studiebelastingsuren (SBU)'. See: http://www.uu.nl/uupublish/content-cln/ASW_Overgangsregeling...
