I though it was a typo at first because I have never heard this word before and it does look like a typo, but the customer confirmed it is the word it is supposed to be. None of my dictionaries seem to know the word either and google only has TWO entries for it. It seems more likely that the word should be spelled with an hypen (pro-detente) but again I cannot find it in any dictionary I got. Any help will be appreciated.
I copy here the complete sentence:
"Members scoring high in affiliation and low in power were relatively more prodetente than were members with the opposite motive pattern."

Comment: "Thanks a lot! It looks just right. Now that you said it, it looks so abvious: I don't know how I didn't see it myself. :) thanks very much (also for how fast you were!)"

In the paragraph's context it is putting a stronger case on the word more which proceeds prodente as pro - for and dente as a tendency to be friendly as in international relationships. Here the pro is a for countering a contra from a perspective for being for peace. In addition it is not correctly written in the book... here you are able to see in the same sentence the opposite notion to the "prodetente"- "...than were members with the opposite motive pattern.
Side note: The book is on a subject where it is attempted to put fixed numbers on nature. Have great caution and use much threshold...
