Preceding... Hi, actually, it did help with context. I think my initial response was correct. H is quizzing (the teacher) about fertility treatment, and the quiz had been interrupted earlier. It makes more sense now, though. I first thought he was just quizzing a friend. See my note on your previous question, by the way.

Well, I think it would not help if i gave you the preceding sentence, because the researcher who wrote the essay was just quoting briefly what the student had said. The preceding sentence, anyway, is:

Interruption My last blurb became a bit repetitive. But the point was that whatever had been said, it had been interrupted in the barn, and was now being continued. If he was taking a test, the word used should have been "tenttiään".

Quizzing So could the sentence meaning be conveyed as follows:
"On the way back home, H went on about the uninterrupted quizzing on fertility treatment in the stable." ("I don't know whether i passed the test - he continued")

I think quizzing suits the sentence fine, you are right there... What do you say?
