Discussion
When doing our translation work, we should be extremely careful not to "stretch" the meaning to what we think it should be.
In this case, the title "Depicting Injustice Project" very simply and very clearly means "SHOWING Injustice Project"...nothing more...nothing less...that is using photography to show injustice.
We should not translate this title to mean "project against taking unjust photos" (whatever that means). Note that even if the project were about taking unjust photos, the meaning of the title is still the same: showing injustice...and we should translate it this way.
my translation and also as it is clear other's translations were based on the information provided by the asker. wrong information has led to the inappropriate renderings.
your translation goes well with the term.
Thank you.
Depicting Injustice is a research project by Panos UK run in collaboration with Save The Children UK. Photographic images made by Magnum for fund raising in four countries for SCF UK was the object for the research. It is a participatory research project involving the subjects and the communities of the 'photographed'. Research is slated for dissemination in September 2010.
I worked as a co-researcher as part of this which took place in Delhi, India in June-July 2010. This involved facilitating focus groups, individual interviews and facilitating a participatory photography workshop.
