Spanish term

No se conoce con exactitud cuando se realizó por primera vez una Ritidectomía

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery
"No se conoce con exactitud cuando se realizó por primera vez una Ritidectomía, pero se destaca que los primeros intentos quirúrgicos para rejuvenecer el rostro datan de inicios del siglo XX (1-3)"

Es sobre todo el inicio, "no se conoce con exactitud" me vienen varias cosas a la cabeza, pero ninguna me resulta apropiada...

Muchas gracias de antemano!
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Trudy Peters, philgoddard

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

The exact date of the first facelift is not known

One possibility.
Note from asker:
Great! thank you all! I have to use rhytidectomy at this point. But the structure is perfect to me. Thank you again fro your great help! :)
Peer comment(s):

agree Cinnamon Nolan : Very succinct. Perhaps "the first rhytidectomy", depending on the register (plastic surgery journal...).

Thanks, Cinnamon.
agree Charles Davis : Excellent way of handling this, very natural and convincing. EN uses technical terms like this much less than SP. // Hadn't thought of that! Yes, if it's a professional text, then "rhytidectomy". But this structure is the way to go.

Thanks, Charles. You're right, Spaniards love technical terms, although as Cinnamon says, it does depend on the audience.
