German term

Grundtausch

German to English Law/Patents Real Estate legal problems with property - letter (2)
Another term used in this letter about the legal situation of a property. Presumably it's related to the exchange of a plot of land but there is probably a specific term which I can't seem to find:

"Ich erwarte, dass die Grundtauschsache jetzt endlich abgeschlossen werden kann"

"Solltet Ihr vor der Katastereintragung unseres Grundtausches weitere Bauprojekte vornehmen..."

Discussion

jccantrell Mar 27, 2014:
With phil, exchange, especially as it has to do with legal papers and such.
Tracy Byrne (asker) Mar 27, 2014:
land swap example The rugby club example is promising - in my case, the owner seems to be entitled to damages and this "land swap" might be a form of compensation, though I unfortunately don't have all the details
philgoddard Mar 27, 2014:
Swap is a bit colloquial, and trade is potentially ambiguous. I'd say exchange.
mill2 Mar 27, 2014:
property swap? property trade? Just guessing here...

land swap

At times where there is advantage to neighbouring landowners to improve access, or for other reasons, a land swap can be used. See Wikipedia example of Bath Rugby Club.
