Hah! So it looks like Phil was right and it was just an OCR error! Enigma solved :( Thanks for letting us know Maria. Have a nice day!
Maria Fokin (asker) Oct 29, 2014:
@ Linda and Kreonia Well, I was told to just ignore the 1,53. I am still waiting to hear what it actually meant, if anything, but people are busy. I am rather curious myself, so if I hear back from the client, I will definitely let you know!
Maria Fokin (asker) Oct 22, 2014:
This is one of those fancy recipe books with ingredients like farina 360 w, xantana and gelatina kappa in soluzione. All the ingredients are meant to be meticulously weighed out, so they are all in grams.
philgoddard Oct 22, 2014:
Why do they measure water in grammes anyway? Do Italian people just know that 15 grammes is the same as 15 millilitres? Just wondered.
philgoddard Oct 22, 2014:
I think it's meaningless - maybe an OCR error or something. This recipe just says 15g water:http://acasadilory.blogspot.com/2014/03/focaccia-con-tonno-e...
Kreonia Oct 22, 2014:
I agree with Linda that you should check with the client - 1.53 ml of water isn't much either, especially when you think that most recipes for salamoia list litres of water (e.g. 1 litre per 90 grams of salt). Please let us know if you find an explanation, I am quite curious.

1.53 ml water

An absolute shot in the dark Maria but given that "15 g di acqua" is not very much at all could it possibly be 1.53 ml?
I'd check with the client though if at all possible.

Yes, you are right Maria, it is. So would it be 15 cl?
Do let us know the answer as Kreonia said.
This is like a missing crossword clue, niggling away! It is probably just a misprint :(
Note from asker:
15 grams of water is about 15 ml, so it can't be that... I will ask the client. Maybe it's an error :-/
Peer comment(s):

neutral Sarah Thompson : but isn't 1.53ml even less than 15g?
