"For example, continuous improvement projects included a complete redesign of Hose Manufacturing. To improve material flow, the layouts of work stations were redesigned, while the investment of new equipment significantly reduced tact time.
A second continuous improvement project included Process Mapping (3M) training. During the training, which focused on the procedure for selecting parts and materials and delivering them to the appropriate work centers, a large amount of waste was identified in the assembly processes.
Through process mapping, the team laid out a desired future state for the picking process and created an action plan to achieve the results. The next step is to conduct a time study to help determine waste and to calculate ROI in result of ***going to a cart system vs. a shelf system***"
Grazie mille in anticipo!
