Participants in an annual life fund periodically transfer money to the fund. The sum of the assets of a fund including accrued investment income is divided over the participants who are alive at the end of the duration of the fund.

Spaarkassen
Bij een spaarkas storten de deelnemers periodiek een bepaald bedrag in de kas. Op de vooraf afgesproken einddatum ontvangen de dan nog levende deelnemers het bedrag in de spaarkas. Dat is het totaal van de inleg van de deelnemers vermeerderd met beleggingsresultaten dan wel rente.

Hoewel de naam anders doet vermoeden, is de spaarkas een vorm van een levensverzekering. Slechts enkele verzekeringsmaatschappijen bieden deze verzekeringsvorm
aan. Is dat terecht? Heeft deze verzekeringsvorm in 2020 nog nut?
Verzekeren is ‘collectiviteiten zoeken’, en de spaarkas is een collectiviteit bij uitstek.
Zonder collectiviteit geen spaarkas. In dit artikel beschrijf ik de spaarkas en geef ik sta ik stil bij drie potentiele toepassingen.
Wat is een spaarkas ook al weer?
Een spaarkas kent geen verzekeringnemers maar deelnemers. Bij een spaarkas storten de deelnemers periodiek een bepaald bedrag in de kas. Op de vooraf afgesproken einddatum ontvangen de dan nog levende deelnemers het bedrag in de spaarkas. Dat is het totaal van de inleg van de deelnemers vermeerderd met beleggingsresultaten dan wel rente. Bij tussentijds overlijden wordt geen bedrag uitgekeerd. De levende deelnemers op de einddatum genieten dus een stukje sterftewinst. Het gespaarde bedrag hoeft met steeds minder mensen gedeeld te worden.
