Data collection included the use of demographic sheets, questionnaires, life history calendars, and *******topical biographical interviews*******. All interviews took place in the participants’ homes, with the exception of one interview that took place in a long-term care facility and were conducted in Spanish by a Spanish speaking researcher.
The *******topical biographical interview******* questions focused on the participants’ experiences of disablement and its effect on their lives. Participants were informed that if any abuse was ongoing and spoken of during the interviews, it would be reported to Adult Protective Services. Each participant received $50.00 per meeting.
