Hola, necesito saber exactamente qué término se utiliza par "tapping" en un contexto de gasoductos.
"Attach a tapping machine to the temporary valve and make a pressure tap with a special cutter."

Quizás diría mejor "perforación de vías" para diferenciarlo de la traducción de "drill". "Tap" significa perforar una vía, abrir una vía, ejecutar una vía en la tubería para que salga un caudal muy pequeño de la tubería.
Esta clase de máquinas necesitan aplicar una presión muy alta (igual a la del gasoducto al menos) para que no se produzcan escapes serios durante su operación, de ahí que se refiera el texto a un "pressure tap".
