Spanish term

publicidad registral

Spanish to English Law/Patents Real Estate
Hi. I'm translating "nota simple informativa continuada" from Spain. At the end, in the data protection part, it says:
de conformidad con lo dispuesto en la solicitud de la publicidad registral, los datos personales expresados en la misma han sido objeto de tratamiento e incorporados a los Libros y archivos del Registro.

Does it mean "to ask for public information on registration"?

Discussion

My take I understand it to mean a request for publication in the register/registry. I seriously doubt "publicity" will be the term you are looking for.

registration (in the rgister0

This is about registration in the Land Register
"Publicity" doesn't work and is a false friend in this context
Note from asker:
I have come to the conclusion that it may mean "to ask the Register for the public information on the real estate". Do you agree?

agree Jennifer Levey : Yes - it refers to the fact that the register that is 'public' (i.e., can be consulted by anyone with a legitimate interest in the content). Now't to do with 'publicity'.

I think adding "public" could be misleading; the register may not be public
neutral Adrian MM. : Agree with Robert C. The land registry is clearly open to public searches, as opposed to private notarial registration.

registry publicity

(land) registry publicity
Ausencia de responsabilidad de la entidad bancaria prestamista por la existencia de una hipoteca anterior sobre la finca vendida

Generally, people get in touch with the land registration system at least once in a lifetime. Whether it concerns the purchase of a property, the mortgage or the succession, the property registration system is directly or indirectly involved. Sometimes it’s necessary only simple, basic and easily obtained information, while other times it is necessary complex, related and thoroughly construed information. This depends on the available information in the system and on the expertise of the one researching it.

public (open) registration

opposite: non-public, private and often notarial registration, such as of an electoral register and of a Royal Family member's probated Will - no names mentioned.

compare publicité foncière in French, approx. land registration that constitutes actual notice to all-comers in most countries.
Example sentence:

IATE: fr registre de publicité foncière COM en land register

how to opt out of the 'open register'

Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : It may or may not be "public" - we don't know

your 'barebones' registration answer, entered first, would normally have been my own. BTW, the search is public and open, as opposed to private, notarial registration.
agree Robert Carter : Clearly does mean "public" (debatable how "open" that "publicidad" is though), according to the RAE, https://dpej.rae.es/lema/publicidad-registral

Thanks and gracias, Robert. AT patently never picked up on the private, notarial registration point.

registry inscription

Or "inscription in the register/registry".
I'd use inscription to avoid the double "reg-"...

Example sentence:

Application form for inscription in the Register ...

the purchaser of a property becomes the owner only through an inscription in the land register.
