Spanish term
empleado a turnos y empleado a jornada ordinaria
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
Hey there,
Can anybody suggest the best English translations for these terms? They are from a document relating to changes being made to the workforce of a company. Empleado a turnos should by shift worker I think, but i'm not sure how to translate the other.
Here's some context:
Este acuerdo sobre plantilla operativa mínima para una producción nominal de 75000 TM./año se incorporará a la firma del convenio colectivo 2005/2006, con ello se
pasa a una plantilla operativa de 256 empleados: 190 empleados a turnos y 66 empleados a J.O. excluido el personal técnico.
Thank you!

shift workers and employees with normal working hours
"non-shift workers" also seems to be in use:

David Hollywood
: I like "normal working hours" but would stick with "workers"

Thanks, David, personally I would rather avoid the workers/workers/working repetition, hence "employees" (plus the original says "empleados")

: I would agree with David and use workers twice. At least it's consistent and couldn't lead the reader to think the shift workers weren't employees. Otherwise good answer.

: I think "shift and non-shift workers" is the most concise and unambiguous solution..

shift workers and regular schedule workers
Very similar to David's answer, but I think 'regular' works slightly better here than 'normal'.

I've just seen your answer. Please forgive my oversight.
Do you have a suggestion for an answer which doesn't say "workers" or "employees" twice in one sentence? It seems unavoidable...
@Everyone
Whatever solution we choose, you shouldn't need to say "workers" or "employees" twice in one sentence.
