As a lawyer and a linguist, I combine my complete native-level fluency in German with the ability to craft good legal prose in English. My specialization is in legal texts.
Prior to working as a translator, I worked as a lawyer (litigation) for a major international law firm in Washington, London and Munich. In November 2006 I left the active practice of law and have worked full-time as a legal translator since then.
I am a qualified member of the ITI (by examination), and the 2005/2006 holder of its John Hayes' Prize, which the ITI awards each year for the best translation examination in any language combination. |
