Translation - English One minute it was light, and then darkness fell. The monitor had gone out at the same time as the table lamp, and the huge sunlit hall in my computer with the little man in a pullover, small tie and pitiful glasses, who was walking around wringing his hands, started to melt away. The world of my fantasies appeared to be linked to electricity – not even that – to some sort of wiring, fuses and automatic switches. All it took was a failure in the front door circuit and the innocent people who I had not quite finished creating in front of my mirror-like monitor were suffering. The strangest thing was that the bright summery light in my computer, which didn’t seem dependent on any kind of electricity, cut out at the same time as the cosy, warming branch of light from the table lamp. God created that sunlight in a world that only existed in my imagination, and now its weakness was exposed; God’s power in my imaginary world faded because of machines, wiring and fuses in the real world.

Source text - Russian
Translation - English First of all, let’s take a look at its benefits...
There’s no doubt that green tea is a source of many vitamins and minerals – it contains more vitamin C, the strongest antioxidant in helping our body fight off infections and increase immunity, than a citrus fruit. Vitamin P, also found in green tea, has a positive effect on the circulatory system, improves the elasticity of vessel walls, and vitamin K, another constituent, is involved in maintaining normal blood clotting and is vital if you have “weak” blood vessels and a tendency to bruise or bleed easily.
Green tea also contains both iodine and fluoride. Iodine can have a positive impact on the function of the endocrine system (a system of glands that secrete hormones within the body), and fluoride prevents the destruction of tooth enamel, helps stop the onset of cavities and periodontal disease (an inflammatory disease of the areas surrounding the teeth) and cleans the mouth thoroughly.

Translation - English Caught up in the credit crisis, London fears for its Olympic Games.
Three years before the competition begins in 2012 problems are piling up on the desks of its organisers.
The Olympic Movement
The annual report on the preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games should have reassured a country beset by the worst recession since the post-war period. Instead, the document from the Government Olympic Executive, the agency responsible for auditing the finances of the largest urban project to take place in London since the 17th Century, which was published at the beginning of February, had the opposite effect: soaring costs, infighting at the top, private investments drying up…the picture looks bleak.
The first issue is the spiralling projected cost for the construction of sports facilities. The bill for the Olympic Stadium has increased by 10% over the last 18 months because of the need to strengthen the roof. The problem with the foundations have made the cost of the vélodrome track rocket. To cover this extra expenditure the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), the public agency responsible for building the Games’ venues, has had to dip into the already diminishing contingency fund midway through the project.
Next the property developers committed to financing the Olympic Village and Media Centre were hit very hard by the credit crunch. The developers are set to recoup their money after the Games when they sell on the 2700 flats in the village that will host the athletes and officials but the Australian firm Lend Lease is still unable to raise the necessary funds from the banks.
Given the difficulties in further reducing the size of the Olympic Village, it is the government that should make good the shortfall as the International Olympic Committee has warned that under no circumstances is London to make further cuts to the Development Specification Framework.
“Good old pragmatism”
The third problem and by no means the least is that, much to the chagrin of organisers and police, the Home Office is still unable to determine the amount of grant to be allocated to fund security during the competition.
Finally in March 2007, the government was left with little room for manoeuvre when the budget for the Olympic Games was fixed at 9.3 billion pounds – three times more than the initial proposal made in the application that was submitted in 2005.
While the final bill for the Beijing Games is twice higher than was originally estimated, the huge deficit in UK public finances prevents any additional expenditure at all. Moreover, the attempt to make savings is hindered by London’s commitment to successfully complete the renovation of Lea Valley and the deprived area of Stratford in the east of the capital – the urban regeneration project that had a significant influence on London’s victory over Paris and Madrid.
