2015 – Master's degree in English at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. Looking for a long-term partnership with LSPs, publishers and businesses entering international markets. I have worked closely with a number of Polish and international businesses: Arche Tadeusz Skrzypkowski, Zaczytani.pl, Langea Szymon Jakubowski, Wydawnictwo Informacji Branżowe, Lingy LTD, Digital Kickstart, etc.
My largest projects include:
• PL-EN Translation of an adult card game: Using wordplay, cultural references, and informal English to retain the humorous nature of the ST, while openly talking about sex and its different forms; • EN-PL Translation of a children's poem: Educating children on how to respond to sexual harassment. I have managed to retain the spirit and the rhythm of the source material and all the important lessons young readers should remember; • PL-EN Translation of an ebook on photography: intended for wedding photographers working with the bride and groom. In a friendly and competent way, I have forwarded all the information from the ST surrounding equipment, lighting, customer relations, etc.
How did it all start? With Cartoon Network US, which in the 1990s was accessible on Polish TV for some reason. As a kid, I've had the opportunity to listen to everyday language, with all its nuances, styles, and cultural references, not distorted or tainted by the system of education. I instinctively grasped the meaning despite gaps in vocabulary or grammar. I was told that, as a kid, I switched between Polish and English :)
