Spanish to English: Misc - restaurant recycling General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Tourism & Travel

Casa Marcelo, at the old head of Santiago de Compostela, has been a vanguard reference of galician gastronomy - not always understood - since 1998. Located in a stone house at 1 Hostas street, a few steps from the plaza of Obradorio, Casa Marcelo was a revolution in the city: bold selections with local products, open kitchen in the living room, tasty menus...Today, "is the end of a cycle, of the gastronomic restaurant and the tablecloth", announces the chef. "Save consolidated exceptions, the model of a high-end restaurant fits with great difficulty in these moments of crisis", he says, and notes that "it is very complicated to sustain it in small cities". "People do not go out to dine as much, they go out to snack. And they do not spend too much money. We are in a different reality".
