Mar 22 (posted viaProZ.com): The aim of WIND project is to collect 15 audio mins of line recording + 10 audio mins of free talk.
We are looking for around 50 native fr-FR resources. Rate is 20 USD for the whole task (25 mins audio).
Participants need to provide meta data info such as Age/Gender/Native Language/City/Phone Device to join the data collection project. We will provide the survey for potential participants to collect the related info.
Requirement of participants:
Participants should be native speakers who are born or take education in the target country before 12 years old.
◼ Gender identity: Male 45%±5%, Female >45%±5%
◼ Age:
18-65, equal distribution
18-30 (target 30-40%)
31-45 (target 30-40%)
46-65 (target 30-40%)
Recording conditions and microphone:
◼ Environment: quiet room.
◼ Microphones: mobile phone only, 20-30 CM from the speaker (holding the phone).
•Device: All recorded audios should be done using the same mobile phone with a qualified Operation System [At least Android 9 and higher; IOS 11 and higher]
•Total recorded audio length: minimum of 15 mins for the line recording task + 9 mins for the free talk task + 1 min self-introduction.
•Minimum audio length per recording type:
oLine Reading: 3-15 seconds for each audio [Record them in separated audios.]
oFree talk: 1 minute answering each question [Record them in separated audios.]
TASK EXPLANATION (each participant needs to complete all 3 tasks):
1-Read the attached file.xlsx out loud while recording yourself.
Ex. Of sentences fr-FR:
“Leur utilisation est répandue dans divers domaines, tels que la cuisine, la cosmétique et la médecine traditionnelle.”
“Au point de devenir des incontournables de la culture locale, nourrissant parfois autant les imaginaires que les organisms”
2-Record 7 audios answering 7 questions from question list provided.
Ex. Of fr-FR questions:
“Comment la culture et l'héritage de votre famille ont-ils influencé votre vie?”
“Comment planifiez-vous l'avenir, à court et à long terme?”
3-Do 1 min self-introduction. Do not include your real personal information.
Dialect areas needed: will be shared via mail.
*Before starting the collaboration, PM will request for 5 audio sample files with different regional accents to verify quality and accents.
