I haven’t received translation work through LinkedIn. I have been thinking of cancelling my membership, though taking part in two groups (Translation Agencies – Good, Bad, and Cheap + Unacceptable Translation Rates Naming and Shaming Group) has been quite useful.

Incidentally, for the first time ever, an agency contacted me this past week for potential translation work through LinkedIn.
Enquiries through my website usually stem from searches in proz.com, but I don't have any link to my LinkedIn profile here. So I am not sure how the agency found me. I will ask them if I ever get work, but I suspect it's because we have something in common in our respective profiles.

It's definitely not a common occurrence, but one of the most exciting projects I've ever worked on came to me through LinkedIn, so I can't really complain.

The very few people who I've heard stating they did are paying users of LinkedIn. I don't think non-paying users can consider LinkedIn but another social media platform.

It's my biggest direct client generator, mostly through active acquisition. I earn thousands of euros per year working for clients whom I found (or who found me) on LinkedIn

I'm not on LinkedIn and have never really considered joining.
My husband joined and has had nothing at all.
He is not a paying member, so maybe that also counts.

Probably, but I'm not sure. I have certainly been contacted for potential jobs through LinkedIn, but I don't remember if any of that has resulted in actual work.
Sometimes clients also check my profile on various platforms or send me work years after the initial contact, so it's hard to tell where exactly did it come from.
