My partner works less than half-time, so yes.

I have been living alone since my youngest daughter left the nest some 20 years ago (in fact she has been living with me again since December last year but she's not financially dependent on me any more). Translation allowed me to support myself (I'm a widow) and raise my three kids on my own.

How many times should we keep asking the same question?

Well, apparently when Proz has no new Quick Polls questions (or hasn’t vetted yet the ones that have been suggested) recycles the old ones over and over again. And yet one of the rules for suggesting a poll is “Ensure that a similar question has not been asked recently by searching for key terms”.

True, but people come and go. The translation landscape has changed a lot. Same goes for personal situations. So in my opinion, it s always interesting to ask.

Yes - I'm the main breadwinner in my household. And there's only one person: me. And a cat.
New question: what did you have for breakfast this morning?

Maybe there's been a massive wave of divorces or marriages among translators since Covid.
People may have got sick of their partners also working from home. Or had a bigger pool to pick from in their online dating.
I've gone from earning 80% (married) to 100% (single) to 50% (recoupled) over the past three years, and I do like to see myself as a trendsetter.

And I answer with a question: Why it is so important to know if we are the main breadwinners in our household? If speed is more important than quality, what clothes am I wearing today while working or not...?
There are polls that are a complete nonsense to me and other questions very private, and that's why most part of the time I don't answer.
I have no interest whatsoever to know if you are the main breadwinner or not in your household.

.... Yes it is!
About these poll questions (and answering them), don't we have better things to do, like translating for example? Or is there not enough work?
